Homework

To support your progress in school, you will have been set homework in a number of curriculum areas. The nature of this homework will vary depending on the subject.

Tasks that might be set: research, evaluating learning, correcting and improving work, written tasks, reading tasks, learning tasks such as vocabulary and spelling, making artefacts, drawing and designing, preparing for presentations. To give you a guide as to when homework will be set, indicated below is the frequency of homework for each curriculum area and Key Stage.

The length of time to be spent on homework will vary for each student depending on what they are being asked to do and their own areas of strength, but as a guide a year 7 student should be spending 30 minutes on a homework task, year 8 up to 40 minutes and year 9 up to 50 minutes. At Key Stage 4, homework should take up to one hour for each subject.
